I arrived in Las Vegas yesterday and if you have been following my mini updates "Interim Thoughts" you will know that I had a lot of problems with my phone and Internet service when I stopped to stay in South Utah.
I am staying at Arizona Charlies RV Park and Casino. I think I am going to enjoy my stay here. I am within a few blocks of the Sam's Town Casino and Resort and the Boulder Station Casino and Resort. Which means there are theaters and other places to visit.
Arizona Charlie has a nice and just as important a fairly inexpensive (for Las Vegas) buffet. I went to the Wild West Buffet for dinner last night and it was pretty good. I probably will do most of my eating out (which is only occasionally anyway) there.
My plans for the weekend are to head down to the strip and start seeing all the different resorts. I want to check out the 3-D rides/shows especially the Star Trek Experience at the Las Vegas Hilton. I went there a few years ago and I hear they have changed the show and the exhibits so it will be worth seeing again.
The weather here in Las Vegas is a very pleasant mid 70's. I have had the door and windows open all day with a gentle breeze. I have quite a bit of work that has stacked up on me. Not clients work but work on my own business ventures including this web site. I am planning to add advertising to this web site and some others. My long term goal is to get away from doing programming work for others and get some revenue streams coming in from these sites.
The purpose of this long term goal is to allow me to have this revenue stream run in an automatic way which will require me to only monitor the websites and at my convenience I can update or make changes. This way I can travel and not have the need to be constantly connected as I am now for my clients. This will allow me to start doing some overseas traveling where I will only be able to connect to the internet at hotels, B&B's, or Cyber Cafes.
To be honest with you I am looking forward to getting away from the constant need to be connected. Last weeks little problem with my Internet connection in South Utah has brought that need into clear focus.
I will keep you updated on anything interesting with my "Interim Thoughts" system. Anything significant I will write a new blog.
