As you can not doubt see It has been a couple of months since I wrote my last travel diary entry. In that last entry I mentioned how I had hurt my back. Well it has not gotten much better. As the title of this travel diary suggests I have not been able to get out and about very much at all. For the most part the weather has been nice and under other health circumstances I would have had plenty of opportunity to see some of the area. However, my back has been so bad that I find walking to be painful and I have been avoiding walking as much as I can.
I have decided to end my winter adventure here in the South and tomorrow I am going to begin a real adventure as I head back North to Boise, Idaho. My back is bad enough to where I need to see a Doctor and my Orthopedic Surgeon is in Boise so I want to be seen by him. He performed my last surgery in 1995 and is more familiar with the inner workings of my back specifically.
My trip back North will be "playing it by ear" as I follow the weather closely. My goal is to make it in 4 days but rather than get caught in a snow storm somewhere I will layover a day or two somewhere along the way if I must.
I must admit being here in Phoenix, Arizona away from family was a little unnerving even though I have friends in the area. I guess this little experience has made me a little more thankful for family so I am excited and a bit of a hurry to get back to Boise.
I will probably make some mini posts as I go, especially if there is anything eventful, such as for weather delays etc. I hope, of course, that I won't experience any delays and I will be able to arrive in Boise in a timely manner.
