I am departing Las Vegas this morning for Quartzite, Arizona. I plan to stay in Quartzite one week before moving on the Phoenix, Arizona where I will be spending most of the winter.
On Thanksgiving day I spent the afternoon with my best friend Wally and his fiance Liz. They were staying at the Venetian Hotel and Casino Resort. We had Thanksgiving dinner at a very fine restaurant called Zeffirino's. Zeffirino's is a traditional high end restaurant but for Thanksgiving they were having a buffet dinner. It was a great meal! Wally, Liz and I had a wonderful time with dinner and after dinner drinks taking us nearly four hours. Great company, great conversation and a great meal.
Friday was the big day. Wally and Liz were married on the Grand Canal wedding barge. They were married by the Reverend Peter Billitteri which was most appropriate because the Reverend is the Chaplain for the North Las Vegas Police Department. Which for Wally is a big deal as a Retired Naval Security Officer.
After the ceremony we went with the photographer taking pictures of the wedding couple in numerous scenic parts of the Venetian for which there are many. After the pictures we went for dinner at the French Bistro and Steak House Morrells located in the Palazzo Resort Hotel Casino next door to the Venetian.
Again we were treated to a magnificent dinner with champagne, numerous appetizers and many after dinner drinks. I can honestly say the 16 oz Kansas City Steak was the best steak I have ever ate. The service was magnificent, with at least 8 different attendees seeing to our every need. We had a table right next to their bay windows and had a grand view of the Treasure Island Hotel Casino and Resort, across Las Vegas Blvd, and their fireworks display over their pirate ship.
After dinner we walked around the Grand Canal for a while and checked on my wedding gift for Wally and Liz. I got them a 3D Hologram portrait of the two of them that was embedded into a crystal heart. While I was at it I got one of me for my granddaughter Ellery's birthday and Christmas (her birthday is on Christmas eve).
Check back on this posting and in a couple of days I will add a few pictures of the wedding.
