I have been back to the Boise area now for a week and what a week. As I have mentioned previously I got here just in time. First my RV's air conditioner went out just before I left Idaho Falls then as I was driving over to Boise from Idaho Falls I started getting service engine  warning lights on my Ford F250 Super Duty truck.

I had to take these problems in order of urgency so the first thing I did was get my truck into John's Auto Service here in Meridian. I've used John's several times before going back to the days when I had my Corvette. They found that the problem was a sensor in the rear universal that was affecting my tach, speedometer and via the computer my problem with shifting between gears. While they had it I had them go ahead and replace my front breaks and to top it off with an oil change.

Next I tackled the RV's air conditioning unit. I contacted one of the local Mobile RV repairmen, named Jim Page of Page's Mobile RV Service. He said he has worked with EasyCare Insurance before who I have my RV maintenance insurance with. As I write this he has obtained authorization from EasyCare to replace the air conditioner and has ordered a new unit. It is having to come out of Portland so it will be a few more days before it will get installed.

The last couple of days have been really hot (if you don't have a working air conditioner) with high's above 95. If it was just me it would not be a problem but I have 3 little fury critters Christy, Grayson and Patches. They have not been happy at all. The worst day so far (Monday) I had to lay a wet towel over my little girl cat Christie. My hope is that the A/C will be installed tomorrow in time for the weekend. However, I don't have much hope for that. It appears Jim Page is too busy to support that so we (Christie, Grayson, Patches and me) will have to suffer through the labor day weekend and some of next week.

Things are going to slow down a little for the next few weeks. I am going to go on holiday from traveling and just enjoy sitting in one place for a while. I also am going to try and spend some time away from the computer. That will be difficult because I won't turn down any current clients who need a project done and my main client is making noise like he is ready to march off on a new campaign. Anyway I will try to stay away from the computer (read internet) as much as I can.

I was able to visit with my brother Jerry and my son Ray and granddaughter Ellery. Ray, Jennifer and Ellery left this past Saturday for a week long vacation to the coast. They were going to visit Salem and Newport, Oregon.

My next travel plan is to do a day trip over to La Grande, Oregon to scout out the local RV Parks and internet access. I don't know just when I will do this but sometime in the next month or six weeks. This will be in preparation for my plan to spend the summer in the La Grande area next summer.
