Reason to Visit :      Old Fashioned "Watering Hole." The Bucket of Blood Saloon, was rebuilt after the fire of 1875. In spite of its sinister name, the Saloon gives off the charm of the old time hey-days with its many hanging lamps and mirrors. Memories of the past await the visitor wandering in to the bar for a cold drink in this cool oasis.

The Bucket of Blood Saloon an Old Fashioned "Watering Hole." Well that might be a stretch. The Saloon, despite it's many hanging lamps and mirrors, has even more T-Shirts, sweaters, hats and other tourist paraphernalia hanging all around the saloon, that it detracts from what should be its charm of the old time hey-days. You really have to look past the modern day display of commerce and the dozens of modern slot machines to see what was once an Old Fashioned "Watering Hole."

One feature that did add to its Old Time charm was the live Banjo playing musician who was playing alongside an old fashion player piano. Note the sweat shirts and the Banjo players CD for sale.

Bottom line. If you do go to Virginia City, Nevada you might as well stop by. I hope you won't be quite as disappointed as I was with all the modern day commercialism.
