Reason to Visit :      Actor William Boyd, who is best remembered as western hero "Hopalong Cassidy," is a Cambridge native who moved during his youth. He maintained his Cambridge roots and the city now celebrates an annual Hopalong Cassidy festival.

Held the first weekend in May each year. This festival features a collectors show & sale and western entertainment in the downtown area. There will be downtown sidewalk sales, food vendors, and continuous entertainment.

Free admission.

2006 Festival:
May 3 - 7, 2006

William Boyd, whose boyhood home is Cambridge, is remembered as one of the greatest Western Heroes of the silver screen and early television. The Collectors and Western Memorabilia Show takes place at Pritchard Laughlin Civic Center. The Downtown events in Cambridge are on Saturday morning. There will be a cowboy look-alike contest, food vendors, crafts, and fun for the entire family!
