Montezuma Castle National Monument is a 5 story 20 room dwelling. It is in the recess of a cliff about 100 feet above the valley floor.

Location:
Montezuma Castle National Monument is about 50 miles south of Tucson, Arizona, near Fort Verde, just a couple of miles east of the I-17 Interstate at exit 289.

Though Montezuma Castle is a small example of a Native American cliff dwelling I thought the stop by was well worth it. You will only need about an hour to visit Montezuma Castle National Monument.

Additionally, there are other neat places to visit all within a 20 or so mile range. There is Montezuma Well, Fort Verde, Tuzigoot National Monument and the Jerome Ghost Town.
