Thank you Millie!
I must admit that I have been there many times over my life. My family used to take vacations there when I was a child. I have recently been back to visit. First was in 1999 and again in 2002 ( both before my adventure) when I was visiting family down around the Fresno area. My Aunt Janet and Uncle James Seay and I went for a day trip. Then again during my adventure while I was staying in Kingsburg during May 2004. Below are some pictures I took during that May 2004 visit.
Yosemite National Park is without a doubt one of the most beautiful parks in the U.S.A. I have been to Yosemite many times and it is still my favorite destination. Every time I visit Yosemite National Park it looks the same as I remembered from my previous or even my first visit.
Yosemite National Park is huge! Some 750,000 acres or 1200 square miles. I understand that over 4 million visitors visit Yosemite Valley every year. Making Yosemite one of, if not the most visited National Parks in the country.
A favorite destination for Mountain Climbers who come to conquor the 3,593 foot (about 1,100 meters) granite vertical face of El Capitan. Then there are the rafters who come to ride the wild waters of the Merced River. But the most common visitor to the Park are those like me, who come to just enjoy the beauty and majesty of the local scenery.
Directions:
If you are coming North from L.A. you will most likely enter the Park on CA-140. CA-140 meets CA-120 in Yosemite Valley.
From the east, you can enter on CA-120. You have to cross Tioga Pass, which is not always open during the winter months because of snow.
You don't need reservations to visit or enter Yosemite National Park, but reservations for lodging or camping are essential if you plan to spend the night in the park.
The park entrance fee applies to all visitors. If you arrrive in your private car, the entrance fee is $20 per car, and is valid for seven days, and includes all occupants of the car.
Otherwise, entrance fees are as follows:
$10 per person if arriving on foot, horseback, motorcycle, or on a non-commercial bus (free for those 15 years old and younger).
Commercial tours pay the following rates (a special permit is required):
Commercial sedan (up to six seats): $25 (plus $10 per person)
Commercial van (7-15 seats): $125
Commercial mini bus (16-25 seats): $200
Commercial motor coach (more than 26 seats): $300
7 May 2004 (Day Trip to Yosemite)
Went on a day trip to Yosemite National Park with my aunt and uncle, James and Janet Seay. This is the second time (last time in Oct 2002) we went up to Yosemite. We were hoping to see the falls full of water and were not disappointed. They were magnificent.
Below are some Photos/Pictures I took of Yosemite

Photo/Picture of me on 7 May 2004 over looking the Yosemite Valley with El Capitan and Bridal Veil Falls. Today was a great time to visit as it was a very nice mid 70''s°F day with the falls full of spring snow melt running over the falls.

Photo/Picture of my aunt and uncle, James and Janet Seay, setting in an unusual bench/love seat built into a small foot bridge on 7 May 2004.

Photo/Picture of me on 7 May 2004 at the entrance to Yosemite''s Ahwahnee Hotel entrance where my aunt, uncle and myself ate lunch.

Photo/Picture of view from the foot of Bridal Veil Falls on 7 May 2004. You couldn''t get near the bottom without getting soaked in the mist.
And I have been to Yosemite before in 1957 or 1959 and various others until 1999 and 2002.
Traveling Webmasters Comments about his previous visit in 1957 or 1959 and various others until 1999 and 2002. :
Actually, I don't remember all the times I have been. My first recollection was probably about 1957 or 1958 when my family took a camping trailer up to Yosemite and we stayed about a week.
