I purposely looked up Foggy's Notion on the Internet to see if it was still there, and maybe there was some information of the status of it.
When I left to move back home in the early 80's there was no Internet to check out such info. It is nice to be able to.
During 1979-1981, as a twentysomething female, I hung out there on my time off frequently with friends and room-mates. It was as you mention, a really neat place with odds and ends of everything hanging all over the place. There were three floors, and you could look down on the dance floor, and watch people dancing. At that time disco music was still in, like Donna Summer and others. They had bouncers the size of big football players at that time and no one was unsafe with them there. Some of them were bartenders also. There was Mike, Tommy, and Dennis (who I think managed Foggy's Notion at that time). There were others and females too that worked there.
I am from upstate NY, and went to San Diego in my youthful twenties. I lived up the street on Kemper Court and am so sad that Foggy's (as we called it) is gone. I could just cry over hearing that. I haven't been back since I left in April 1981.
Thank you for setting up this site. I feel very nostalgic thinking of my Foggy's Notion days.
